COVID-19: Our Commitment to Safety

VFS COVID-19 Resources & Plan

VFS and MeshWrx remain committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, families, and communities. During the COVID-19 global pandemic, we remain committed to our clients and our shared safety. The systems that we sell, design, install, test, inspect, maintain, repair, administrate, and support protect properties and save lives.

All orders issued by California Municipal, County and State governments list our industry as essential and have designated construction and safety services as “critical in order to protect the health and well-being of all Californians”. VFS is keeping close tabs on this situation not only in California and Texas but all over the United States. We have a national responsibility to keep our employees and customers safe with the work we perform around the country and this is something we make our first priority.

VFS will continue to maintain our normal business hours and our 24-hour emergency service continues to be available.

We will continue to diligently monitor this situation and we will communicate any further adjustments to this approach as appropriate.

The recent federal press releases, local and state orders have us all asking a lot of questions during these unprecedented times.  We are continually monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), OSHA, and local health authorities and will continue to update the measures we are taking to conduct operations in a safe manner.

We have implemented the following company-wide measures that align with guidance from the CDC and OSHA.

  • VFS and MeshWrx employees that currently have the tools and resources to work from home have been encouraged to work from home.  We will continue to invest in tools, additional resources, and in identifying ways of reducing our office worker footprint as this continues.
  • All non-essential air travel has been halted.
  • All non-essential scheduled visitors to our office have been canceled or rescheduled for later dates.
  • We are actively reinforcing the importance of physical/social distancing, hand hygiene, and respiratory etiquette with all employees.
    • Frequent hand washing
    • Avoiding touching the nose, mouth, and eyes
    • Avoiding handshaking, or other close contact
    • Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing
    • Limiting personal contact, including handshakes
  • Educational resources for our employees on the symptoms of COVID-19

    • Fever
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath
  • Encourage high-risk employees to stay home

    • High-risk employees, which in accordance with CDC guidelines include individuals over the age of 60 and individuals with chronic medical conditions, should be strongly encouraged to stay home from work.
  • Routine cleaning of the office

    • Clean frequently touched surfaces, such as workstations, countertops, and doorknobs. Normal cleaning agents used for these areas can continue to be used.
  • Measures to take for physical/social distancing:

    • Limit in-person meetings. When meetings must occur (including daily safety meetings), limit the group size, and maintain a safe distance between attendees (approx. 6’).
    • Encourage employees to minimize close contact (within 6’ of others for more than 10 minutes) to the greatest extent possible
    • Spread out areas of work as much as possible.
  • Communication:

    • Immediate notification to your Supervisor is required if anyone has:
    • Tested positive for COVID-19.
    • Had close contact with someone known to have tested positive for COVID-19.
    • Completed a trip to a CDC-categorized Level 3 travel warning location

Please stay informed by regularly reviewing the latest information available on the CDC’s website (www.cdc.gov).

There is some good news to help us stay strong.  Chinese officials have said that there are no new local cases of Coronavirus.  The temporary hospitals that were built are being taken down and their economy has almost recovered completely.

Remember, we are in this together and need to support each other.  We are facing adversity on a global scale right now and for our fellow co-workers, customers, partners, and for our loved ones, we must remain calm.  On behalf of VFS and MeshWrx, thank you for your understanding and your commitment.

Stay Healthy.
