After serving in the United States Army, Jorge returned to his hometown and began work at a small fire protection and sprinkler company. He started as an apprentice learning the trade from veterans of the sprinkler business where he acquired a breadth of knowledge that is unparalleled to most. After completing the 669 Joint Apprenticeship Training program, Jorge became a certified sprinkler fitter and then worked in the field for 25 years doing both service work and new construction projects throughout Southern California.
In 2005, after 20 years in the field, Jorge accepted the management position overseeing both the service and new construction departments for VFS. His knowledge of field operations, fire code, and running crews helped him to transition into this position and continuously drive his team to success. Most recently he has taken on the role of General Manager at Golden State Fire Protection, which VFS acquired in August 2020.
With over 35 years of experience in the fire protection industry, he leads his team through a formidable work ethic and expects nothing less from all members of his team. Outside of work, Jorge enjoys riding his dirt bike and wine tasting (not at the same time of course). When he’s not riding around in the dirt or developing his sophisticated palate, he indulges in his most coveted hobby of all…USC football!
